The city is located on hilly ground 10 kilometers (6 mi) inland from the Mediterranean Sea coast on the banks of the River Lez.

Montpellier's highest point is the Place du Peyrou (Peyrou Saquare), at an altitude of 57 m. The city is built on two hills, Montpellier and Montpellieret, thus some of its streets are pretty steep!  Other streets are very old and narrow, which gives to the City its unique historical and intimate feeling. We just hope that you will grab this opportunity to enjoy a memorable "al fresco" dinner in one od the numerous restaurant located in the historical centre named l'Ecusson

 During the Conference, fine weather is expected with average minimum and maximum temperatures of 20 and 25°C

Montpellier offers a large number of hotels. Nevertheless at this period of the year the town welcomes many tourists. We advise you to book a room as soon as possible.

At the roundabout Agropolis, take exit 4 (Route de Mende). Turn left at the second firelight.  Third exit at the next roundabout. Cirad is 500 metres further on your right hand side.
